Wuxi mayor Wang Quan met with a delegation led by the India consul-general in Shanghai Prakash Gupta again on March 27, following a previous visit on Feb 2, according to the Wuxi government.
The delegation came to attend the India-China (Wuxi) Business and Investment Forum and the India Culture Week.
Wang Quan said that India is an important country on the Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. Wuxi is proud to be the first city in East China to host the India Culture Week, which entranced Wuxi people's eyes and enhanced mutual understanding.
Wang added that Wuxi is carrying out an innovation-driven strategy based on industry to make the city stronger. He hoped that Wuxi and India will expand cooperation, particularly in software and cloud computing, over which India has pioneering advantages.
For example, the Indian multinational skills and talent development company NIIT's China headquarters is based in Wuxi, greatly contributing to the area's software talent development.
Prakash Gupta said that the two events aimed to increase mutual understanding and bilateral trade between India and Wuxi. He warmly welcomed Wuxi companies to invest in India.
