Guohao IOT Park, jointly built by Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) and Jiangsu Construction Engineering Group, held a ground-breaking ceremony in Wuxi.
The project, covering an area of 59,927 square meters in the Wuxi National High-tech District, aims to gather businesses involved in the Internet of Things (IOT), cloud computing, robots and building intellectualization.
The park is BUPT's first scientific research achievement transformation platform set outside Beijing, according to the university's Party chief Wang Yajie.
"We transfer scientific research achievements to industries, such as IOT, through this platform, in line with the industry-university-research cooperation model," he said.
The Wuxi government and BUPT agreed in 2009 to build the Wuxi Institute of Sensing Technology and Business, BUPT. More than 50 patents have already emerged from the institute.
The two national key disciplines of BUPT, which was founded in 1955, are information and communication engineering and electronic science and technology.
