A total of 118 teams from 70 universities across China stood out in the final entries during the fierce two-day competition. The team from Fuzhou University won the grand prize and another nine teams from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Guilin University of Electronic Technology, Sichuan University, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Central China Normal University, Shenzhen University, Anhui Polytechnic University, Beijing Institute of Technology and Chengdu University won the first prize.

Liu Xia, deputy mayor of Wuxi municipal government, addressed the ceremony and briefly introduced the city's IoT development in the aspects of technological innovation, industrial development and developing skills.
Li Zhimin, director of the Science and Technology Development Center at the Ministry of Education, spoke highly of the competition achievements, and expressed his wishes that all college teachers and students could retain the enthusiasm for innovation and make more contributions to the progress of the IoT industry.
Xue Qikun, deputy president of Tsinghua University, also delivered a speech at the end of the ceremony. He said he was deeply moved by the humanistic attitudes embedded in the final entries and encouraged students to continue to explore the world with an innovative spirit, enabling IoT technologies to be of service to all.
The winners of the grand prize, a team from Fuzhou University, displayed their works on the site and received high praise from guests and audience members. The team had created a pair of gloves which can interpret sign language and enable those who are deaf or mute to communicate freely.

The competition is sponsored by the Science and Technology Development Center of the Ministry of Education and hosted by Tsinghua University's Software College and WND administrative committee.
