Wuxi has reaffirmed its status as a tourism hub in Jiangsu province, as it has won the highest tourism satisfaction rating in the east China province, according to an investigation by the provincial tourism bureau.
It is the second consecutive year that the city has led in tourism satisfaction in the province.
The city of Wuxi has shown its strength in the tourism industry over the years, especially in terms of smart tourism with the help of the Internet of Things (IoT) technology. An array of digital services for tourists have been installed on multiple online platforms, providing comprehensive travel services through apps, websites, WeChat accounts and Weibo feeds.
The city has cooperated with various domestic online travel websites to ensure its digital services provide quality information for tourists—covering local tourism resources, products and service, attractions, hotels, restaurants, transport, shopping and more.
At the start of this year, another tourism rich period has come to the city with the kickoff of a series of cultural events. A vibrant new year bonanza, including night markets, grocery fairs and plenty of celebrations at scenic spots, is expected to brighten up China’s most important festival of the year. The Lantern Festival on Feb 11 will see folk performances, lantern riddle solving and do-it-yourself lantern-making, marking the end of the winter festival season.
