Organized by the Asian Table Tennis Union, it is the first time that Wuxi been chosen to host the event with the competition taking place at Wuxi Stadium.
The Championships will welcome 247 athletes from 29 countries and regions to compete in Men's Singles and Doubles, Women's Singles and Doubles, Mixed Doubles, and team matches.
It has been confirmed that China will send its top roster to the event, including Olympic Champions Ma Long, Zhang Jike, and Ding Ning.

Wuxi has a strong connection with table tennis, having produced some of the country's most famous players including Cai Zhenhua and Hui Jun.
A total of 38 schools in the city provide table tennis courses to their students.
Limited numbers of tickets specially provided to local residents are available on the door at the event, costing 10 yuan each ($1.45).
