Starting from today, Wuxi's CCTV Wuxi Movie/TV Base will be holding a month-long cultural festival based on China'sGame of Thrones-style saga of warring dynasties, the Three Kingdoms period.
Unlike the HBO TV show, the battles between the kingdoms of Wei, Shu and Wu were very real, raging over 60 years from 220 to 280 AD.
The festival will feature six cultural activities based on this dramatic period of Chinese history, including stages shows, performances of ancient dances and a poetry contest.
