After learning about residents' concerns, the police station cooperated with a tech company to upgrade the surveillance monitoring system and built a smart cloud platform with facial recognition technology.
The police have installed nine sets of artificial intelligence high-resolution surveillance cameras in the neighborhood as a trial.
By comparing images captured by cameras with those stored in the database, the platform can recognize strangers in the neighborhood and send an alert to the police, the first system of its kind to be installed in a community in Jiangsu province.
Hua Shuhui, head of Fangqian police station, said they will continue to organize regular visits to places under their jurisdiction to find and address prominent issues concerning social security.
