Braised pork ribs, steamed buns, rose cakes and other local foods also proved quite popular among visitors, with glutinous rice dumplings made from black rice selling out on the first day of the carnival.
Purple clay pots, clay figures and works of embroidery, were three traditional souvenirs that were on display in the Wuxi section of the carnival. More conventional gifts, such as postcards, paperweights and fridge magnets were also available for visitors to take away.
