Wuxi, located at the river-lake corridor of the Yangtze Delta in East China's Jiangsu province, has been chosen as the permanent venue of Jiangnan Context cultural summit.
Every year, Wuxi holds Taibo temple fair to commemorate Wu Taibo, the founder of Wu culture, who is praised for his nobility and humility in giving away his crown to his younger brother. Wu culture is considered to be the foundation of the ancient culture of the Jiangnan region.
"Wuxi is not only the birthplace of Wu culture and Jiangnan culture; it has also established a coordinated industrial system covering various industries to become the center of the Jiangnan region," said Fan Heping, vice director of Jiangsu Provincial Academy of Social Sciences.
