The 2018 Annual Wuxi Maker Convention took place on Dec 12, marking the beginning of the finals of the fourth South Jiangsu Global Maker Competition.
More than 400 entrepreneurs, investors and governors attended the convention, sharing their ideas on industrial innovation, technical empowerment and organization restructuring.
With the theme of Innovation, Transformation, and Dynamics, the South Jiangsu Global Maker Competition attracted more than 130 local and foreign projects from the cities and counties of South Jiangsu.
After preliminary competitive rounds, 47 local projects and eight overseas projects reached the finals. They involved intelligent manufacturing, Business to Business service supply chains, consumption upgrading, new energy, new materials and biotechnology.

Three of the projects were favored by the investors and eventually won top prizes: nano environmentally water-borne coatings, Telematics BOX of the Internet of Vehicles and a navigation project by Jiangsu LOCOSTAR Tech Co from Suzhou city.
Another ten projects won for their investment potential, including a high-accuracy and anti-interference navigation chip, an agricultural production standardization platform based on the Internet of Things and 5G-adapted high performance LDS engineering plastics.
During the convention, the 2018 China New Retail White Book was officially released by CyZone, a provider of information on startups, interpreting and analyzing development trends and eight models of China new retail.
According to Xu Mingxia, director of CyZone, new retail, which combines online and offline sale with modern logistics, is an efficient and accurate sale style integrating production, management and marketing channels.
