Wuxi Police and Transport Big Data Command and Service Center launched on Dec 27, providing 24-hour unified commands and arrangements for the city.
Covering an area of 650 square meters, the new center features a giant LED screen with a display area of 94.2 square meters, aiming to direct and supervise traffic safety control, maintain traffic order and respond to traffic accidents.
The center will also identify high risk traffic accident zones and use the digital inspection system for daily checks.
Xie Xiaojun, director of Wuxi Municipal Public Security Bureau, expects the new center to promote smart transport and smart city construction in Wuxi under the banners of big data and internet of things.
Wuxi is making further steps in becoming a qualified smart city by improving its information infrastructure and applying cloud computing, big data, internet of things and mobile internet.
