Lion dance performance
Bi Lin Tang Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe, established during Emperor Daoguang's reign in the Qing dynasty (1644-1911), currently has a history of more than 190 years and has been invited to give performances all over the world.
The most splendid part of the troupe's show is when performers display their circus skills by stepping and moving on five wooden stakes, called quincuncial piles in Chinese kungfu, accompanied by the sound of gongs and drums in complex rhythms, showcasing the emotional changes of the lion such as being happy, angry, sleeping and shocked.
