One of snooker's all-time greats,Higgins fired in the ninth 147 of his career at his home event, the 2018 Scottish Open in Glasgow. It came in his last 64 clash with Gerard Greene.
Higgins reached his seventh World Championship final in 2018. He was defeated 18-16 by Mark Williams in one of the all-time great Crucible encounters.
The Scot claimed a 30th ranking title with victory at the 2018 Welsh Open. It was a record breaking win for Higgins who has now won five Welsh open crowns, more than anyone else.
Higgins and his Scottish teammate Stephen Maguire also reached the final of the previous World Cup in Wuxi in 2015, where they suffered a shock loss to the Chinese wunderkinds Zhou Yuelong and Yan Bingtao. Higgins will be keen to avenge that defeat this year.
