Hon Hai Group visits Wuxi to consolidate agreements

Guo Taiming, president of Taiwan's Hon Hai Group, which trades as electronics manufacturer Foxconn, met with Li Xiaomin, Wuxi Party secretary on May 18, to discuss further cooperation and investment in the city, Wuxi Daily reported.

Li welcomed the Hon Hai delegation and expressed his willingness to further develop cooperation and achieve growth and success. He said that Wuxi highly values its industrial development and is dedicated to building itself into an economically-strong city.

Li said Wuxi has a good base of electronic manufacturing enterprises and hoped Hon Hai would continue investing in the city to foster further economic benefits.

Guo said that Hon Hai, which inked a deal with Wuxi New District (WND) in February, is committed to development and innovation through the combination of the real economy and virtual economy.

Wuxi is a pioneering city in developing real economy and its Sharp manufacturing base, which Hon Hai took over when it purchase the parent company in March, shares a good reputation for advanced technology and quality products in the industry.

Hon Hai is one of the world's biggest contract manufacturers, specializing in joint-design, joint-development, manufacturing, assembly and after-sales services to the global computer, communications and consumer-electronics markets.

The former Wuxi New District, now known as Wuxi Xinwu district or Wuxi National Hi-tech district, was founded in 1992 and underwent administrative changes in 1995, 2002 and 2005.
