A meeting about volunteer work in Zhangjiagang city themed around “Three Love” (love others, love society and love nature) was held in Shanzhou Hotel on Nov 21, 2012.

Yang Fang, member of the standing committee of the CPC Zhangjiagang municipal committee and minister of the propaganda department of the CPC Zhangjiagang municipal committee, as well as other members attended the meeting.

“In 2012, Zhangjiagang has done very well in providing volunteer services. The number of volunteers has surpassed 12,000 with more than 58,000 people having benefited from their services. In addition, donations received total more than 1 million yuan ($160,700), and lots of activities related to providing volunteer services have been organized,” Yang said at the meeting.

She further added that volunteer work plays an important role in city civilization construction. Zhangjiagang will make more efforts to improve the quality of volunteer service.

Before the meeting, Yang, together with the other participants, visited Xincheng community in Jingang town and other volunteer service orientated places.
