Farm product e-commerce network goes online

A farm product ordering and delivery network has gone online in Zhangjiagang recently, providing services to both consumers and farmers.
The Golden Wheat Delivery Center is capable of dealing with 11.7 tons of food every day and can meet the demands of online shoppers in the city.
Products for sale on the network come from the center’s vegetable bases, quality vegetable franchises owned by the center’s cooperatives, and some 3,000 mu (200 hectares) of vegetable gardens in Zhangjiagang.
“We have several dozen vegetable and fruit options for consumers on our online market every day,” said Jiang Hong, assistant to the general manager of the Golden Wheat Delivery Center. “We grow the vegetables with organic manure so consumers don’t need to worry about the quality of our vegetables.”
Cold chain delivery is ensured from planting bases to dining tables, Jiang said.
“Our center has also helped more than 3,500 farmers increase their income,” she said.
