Zhangjiagang facilitates balanced compulsory education development

Zhangjiagang city has met national standards in balanced development of compulsory education, a supervision examination panel of balanced county compulsory education said on May 19.
The national-level evaluation board reviewed basic conditions for compulsory education school operations, balance among compulsory education schools, promotion of balanced compulsory education by the county-level government, and public opinion on the development of compulsory education in Zhangjiagang.
In May 2012, the Ministry of Education issued a temporary rule on supervision and evaluation of balanced development of county compulsory education and set up a system to push forward balanced development of compulsory education nationwide.
This is the first year supervision and evaluation has been conducted on the balanced development of county compulsory education nationwide.
The city will focus on developing and improving the basic public education service system with equal stress on “hardware” and “software” for education, as well as fairness and efficiency in education. The city will enhance the satisfaction and equality of compulsory education among the public, said Qian Jieya, deputy director of the Zhangjiagang city education bureau.
