A heat wave has hit Zhangjiagang recently. It’s a challenge to wait for buses in such hot weather. An app for residents to locate buses, book train tickets, make appointments with driving schools, rent cars, find the nearest garage and check travel information has been released by Gangcheng Automobile Transportation Group in Zhangjiagang of Jiangsu province. Residents can check real-time locations of buses with the app so as to shorten their waiting time.
A website (www.e-haoyun.com) also launched at the same time in late July. It aims to serve residents in the city and provide transportation information. More than 650 buses on 59 bus routes are included in the system.
The app is available now on the Android platform, while iPhone users may have to wait until mid-August.
More functions including booking a taxi, car repair service and volunteer recruitment are being development and are expected to be added on both the website and the app within the year.
