Rain has hit Zhangjiagang of Jiangsu province for several days. Many people in the city are worried that it will be hard to hang-dry clothes due to the rain.
Sales of dryers have increased due to the weather.
In many supermarkets, dryers of various brands have been placed at eye-catching locations with prices ranging between 200-500 yuan ($32.87-$82.18). A few items are priced at over 1,000 yuan.
In RT-Mart, customers are asking about dryer use and capabilities.
A woman surnamed Xu, who had a baby before long , is annoyed by the rain because her child’s clothes must be changed often, though they will dry slowly. Her neighbor told her that dryers are useful, so she came to the supermarket to buy one.
An employee in the supermarket said more people have come to buy dryers recently. “Several dryers were sold out in one hour just now,” said the employee.
According to the employee, dryers are convenient and safe. It takes about one hour to dry clothes, and a little longer for thick items.
