Volunteers from Changyinsha Modern Agricultural Demonstration Park in Zhangjiagang of Jiangsu province provided services to elderly people whose children have moved to other cities for work on March 2, 2014.

The 21 volunteers came from seven communities.

They bought everyday objects for the elderly, talked to them about their living and physical conditions, and cleaned their homes.

Chen Linmei, 87, was glad to see the volunteers.

More elderly people live alone these days since many young people prefer to work in more developed cities. The park has collected information about the elderly and created documents for them. Volunteers in the area provide services to them periodically.
