The 2014 China Robotics Industrial Development Summit, initiated by the Equipment Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, opened in Zhangjiagang on March 25. Experts and entrepreneurs in the domestic robotics industry attended the meeting to discuss how to push forward the healthy development of the robot sector.
Last September, Zhangjiagang’s Industrial Park of Robotics was listed as a key industrial park supported by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The park has constructed six research platforms for robotics and intelligent equipment, introduced 29 high-end professionals and formed a comprehensive research system. It has also sped up the construction of a robot testing center and public service platform of intelligent equipment, to provide assistance for the robotics industry.
The industrial park now has 40 robotics enterprises, with an annual sale of 13.6 billion yuan. The park will strive to improve the public service and attract 10 to 20 famous robotics enterprises in two years. By the end of 2015, the park aims to build itself into a top national robotics industrial park, with the industrial scale up to 30 billion yuan.
Zhangjiagang has launched support policies for robotic industrial development and allocated special funds to sponsor robotics enterprises. In addition, the city will give priority to the application of robotics projects.
