Zhangjiagang has been planning to launch a series of customized public tour bus lines since March 29, according to the local public transportation company.

The first batch of bus lines will stop at three tourist attractions, Changyinsha Modern Agricultural Demonstration Park, Phoenix town and Yonglian village. The first two lines have opened to public, and the third line will start on April 5. Citizens can make reservations by telephone.

There were no direct bus lines from downtown to the scenic spots. The operation of special tour bus lines will provide convenient transportation for local tourists, curb air pollution and reduce traffic congestion.

The buses will run with 20 tourists at least, and the price of bus tickets will range from 10 yuan ($1.61) to 15 yuan. Tourists taking the special tour buses can also enjoy discounts at the scenic spots.

Besides, the public transportation company aims to promote the customized public transport service in schools, stations and large-scale factories to enhance the transit trip ratio and improve the city’s environment.
