Travel agencies in Zhangjiagang suspend Vietnam tour

The last group of Zhangjiagang visitors returned from Vietnam on May 10. All travel agencies in Zhangjiagang have now canceled their Vietnam tour services as the Chinese government issued security warnings for tourists after anti-China violence broke out in Vietnam.
According to the Huatai travel agency, Vietnam tours are not popular among Zhangjiagang citizens. Currently, clients planning travel to Vietnam are suggested to suspend their trips. Other tourism products similar to Vietnam will be available.
Southeast Asian tourism markets, including Thailand and Malaysia, have been experiencing hard times over the past four months due to negative public perceptions of countries as a result of various incidents.
Citizens in Zhangjiagang are paying close attention to tourism security. Insiders suggest that travel agencies adjust their tourism products to meet market demand.
