The city of Zhangjiagang announced on June 10 that it will collect public ideas for a slogan and image for the city's tourism.
The activity, jointly sponsored by the Zhangjiagang tourism bureau and Sina Jiangsu (an Internet portal offering Jiangsu news), is aimed at transforming Zhangjiagang into a hot tourist attraction, creating a new tourism image and promoting the city's popularity.
Zhangjiagang is a port city located in the southeast of Jiangsu province. It is situated on the south bank of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, facing Shanghai in the east and Nantong across the river and neighboring the Taihu Lake cities of Wuxi and Suzhou.
Honored as a national civilized city and an excellent tourism city, Zhangjiagang is a distinctive tourist attraction featuring ecological environment, water town culture, and pure and simple folk customs.
The slogan is required to display Zhangjiagang's tour spotlight in 15 words, and the image shall fully demonstrate the city's uniqueness.
The collection time runs from June 10 to July 15. Each adopted slogan and image will be awarded with 10,000 yuan ($1626.80).
Anyone interested in the activity can submit his or her works to the microblog platform of Sina Jiangsu, or e-mail jiangsucity@sina.com. Another way is to send letters to Sina Jiangsu (Fifth floor, F4, No 1 Zidong Road, Nanjing, Jiangsu province).
