A hazardous chemical monitoring platform was recently launched in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province, as the province's first information platform to monitor the transportation of dangerous chemicals.
Zhangjiagang is an important base in the country to produce and store hazardous chemicals.
The platform can monitor real-time information of vehicles carrying dangerous chemicals, including the goods, vehicle conditions and running routes.
In addition, checkpoints will be set up in the city's main roads. Free GPS devices will be passed out to vehicles from other cities and will be taken back when the vehicles leave Zhangjiagang to help monitor foreign vehicles.
If a vehicle deviates from planned routes, an alarm will ring at the platform. Then the transport bureau will ask the driver to correct the routes. Those violating traffic regulations will be penalized and blacklisted.
