Zhangjiagang: A beautiful city in the eyes of Asian media

The first round of the 2014 Wonderful China Interview Tour wrapped up on May 31. During the trip, all journalists freely recorded their impressions of China with their cameras and pens. Many of the participants said the event helped them get to know the real China.
In Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province, journalists visited the yellow wine production facility and learned about Chinese wine culture . In addition, they got to take home an impression of the local Tang City primary school, which is for students whose parents are migrant labors, and YongLian Village, one of the most wealthy villages in China.
Journalists visited some of the city’s representative tourist attractions and villages, including Xiangshan Mountain scenic spot, Tangshi Primary School, Heyang Folk Song Museum, Jiyang Lake, Tianzhuang Old Street, Zhangjiagang Urban Exhibition Hall and Yonglian Village. The trip allowed the photographers to get a glimpse of different parts of the city through their lenses.
It was the first time the Kazakhstan photographer visited China and Zhangjiagang. “The Yangtze River represents development in both China and Zhangjiagang. I’m fascinated by the vast river,” he said.
When the group came to Tangshi Primary School, it was impressed by the school’s modern education facilities and various courses. “Children in Zhangjiagang are so happy, and I also want to settle down here,” said a journalist from Korea.
On May 30, the reporters toured the Zhangjiagang Urban Exhibition Hall. “The hall, featuring the city’s past, present and future, gives a clear picture of Zhangjiagang’s improvement,” said Rudolf, chief photographer from the Brunei Times.
"The city’s urban construction and economic growth are impressive. I will continue to pay attention to Zhangjiagang after this trip," said Dambar from the Nepali Times.
When the trip concluded, the photographers expressed their love for Zhangjiagang. According to them, the tour provided them a good chance to experience the city's efforts and achievements in urban construction and cultural promotion. They will promote Zhangjiagang through media to invite more people worldwide to appreciate the charming city.
