The 2014 China (Zhangjiagang) Yangtze River Culture Festival kicked off in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province, on Nov 1.

The festival has been held in the city for 11 years in a row, and a total of eight cultural activities will be held during the festival, including an opening ceremony for the culture festival, the third Yangtze River drama festival, an awards ceremony of the 2014 Yangtze River poems contest, a collection for national mini-poem works, as well as the first China (Zhangjiagang) Yangtze River folk art expo.

The festival will also host four business activities, including a seminar on ecological development along the Yangtze River, a seminar of ecological industry cooperation between Zhangjiagang and Taiwan, the 2014 Yangtze River Cultural Tourism Festival and the cross-Straits (Zhangjiagang) Agriculture Expo.

The Yangtze River Culture Festival is an event where people can see shows by performers from Zhangjiagang and other cities along the river, aiming to preserve and promote Yangtze River culture.
