From New Year, Suzhou citizens will get a gift from city's rail transit group as they will be allowed to buy tickets via WeChat from January 2016, according to announcement of Suzhou Rail Transit Group on Dec 28.

The group will upgrade the ticket vending machines to enable passengers to pick up tickets bought through WeChat. In the initial stage, the service will be only available at seven stops including Mudu, Leqiao and Railway Station where the passenger flow is large. It will be expanded to all the stops later.

Also, soon the operation time of metro line 1 and 2 will be extended and more recharging machines for transport cards will be added to bring convenience to locals.
