Yang Haiqing, general manager of Suzhou Feeltek Laser Tech Co., Ltd. and a model of Jiangsu province's innovation and entrepreneurship talents, appreciates the sound investment environment in Zhangjiagang which offers strong support for his research and business.

Located in the bonded zone of the city's Jingang Town, Yang's company has two craft bowls on both sides of the door that leave visitors deeply impressed at first sight. Inside the bowls carved dragons fly through the clouds above blooming flowers.

Besides the bowls, there are many other sample exhibits like scarves and metal ware, which are displayed with detailed parameter specifications. All the patterns on these crafts were printed using the company's latest three dimensional (3D) laser printing technology.

Yang's entrepreneurship journey started in 2009 when 3D laser printing technology was first introduced in the country. He quit his well-paid job and set up a company in Beijing. After several years Yang and his team came out with international leading technological innovations which broke up the monopolistic hold of foreign enterprises on the domestic marketplace.

As a result of rapid industrial development Yang's customers were mainly gathered in the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta, so he decided to change the company's location. Among several cities that sent him invitations, Yang finally chose Zhangjiagang.

"When I first came here for field inspection in June, 2014," said Yang, "the director general of the bonded zone's science and technology bureau had a long talk with me where she listed the advantages and policies of the zone and also addressed in writing my specific concerns including the company's geographic location and raw material sources."

Moved by the region's development advantages and the local official's sincerity, Yang set up Suzhou Feeltek Laser Tech Co., Ltd. and entered the bonded zone in Jingang Town. He fell in love with the city as he got a lot of help here on his business journey.

Attending every exhibition or industrial conference, Yang always updated the company's latest technology to get more domestic enterprises involved in technological research and application. He said he did not worry about the technology being counterfeited and was eager to seek more cooperation with other enterprises.

This year, Yang will invest 3 million yuan in product R&D and line construction, expecting sales to top 10 million yuan ($1.52 million). In the future, the company will strive to keep improving its core technology to become the world's top 3D laser technology solution provider.

"Many people start a business to make a living or simply to make profits," said Yang, "but as part of the society, I really want to bring about some changes for the industry and for my country." Yang firmly believes that the country's 3D laser technology industry, though lacking talents and experience at present, has a bright future.
