Recently, teachers at the experimental kindergarten in Zhangjiagang city performed a traditional shadow play to celebrate the upcoming Lunar Year of the Monkey.
The teachers used leather puppets to vividly showcase the story of the monkey.
Shadow play, also known as shadow puppetry, is an ancient form of storytelling and entertainment which uses flat articulated figures which are moved between a light source and a translucent screen or scrim
Various effects can be achieved by moving both the puppets and the light source, including walking, dancing, fighting and laughing.
