For Peng Cheng, president and general manager of Jusheng Solar in Zhangjiagang city, 2016 is a year full of challenges and opportunities as the company expects to see explosive sales upwards of 50 million yuan ($8 million).
Jusheng Solar is a high-tech enterprisefounded by a team of United States returnees covering scientific research, development, manufacturing, sales and service, specialized in tracking systems in the fields of Photovoltaic (PV), Concentrated Photovoltaic (CPV) and Solar Thermal.
In January, Jusheng Solar received its first overseas order, a deal with a Japanese company to help develop a solar tracking device with a total capacity of up to 1.5 megawatts. At the same time, the company was negotiating with power plant developers in Thailand, India and various countries in South America on solar projects totaling hundreds of megawatts with potential sales income breaking 100 million yuan ($15 million).
"I've always believed solar energy is an important solution for human beings to deal with energy shortages and pollution in the future," said Peng. "Our company integrates CPV with Solar Thermal earning huge market share in the fields of energy-efficient buildings, power generation and heat supply."
Starting his business in 2011, Peng chose to work on the R&D of solar tracking racks. The depression in PV industry inspired Peng's team to focus on technology R&D, earning them the market recognition they currently hold. The company figured out a rigorous theoretical calculation system and computer simulation platform adding to its core competitiveness.
The installation of tracking racks on PV cell panels generally collects a high proportion of available solar energy promoting solar utilization efficiency compared with fixed ones. Statistics show that the company's solar tracking racks have lifespan up to 25 years.
According to Peng, four years' efforts have gained the company plenty of experience in the fields of products, team building, markets and technology, with 16 patents authorized and all kinds of product authentication. It’s because of these technology advantages that the company is inundated with enquiries.
"There are more than 60 percent solar PV plants with tracking racks in the US right now," said Peng. "And the number is estimated at 30 percent worldwide in the future."
