At Zhangjiagang's National Remanufacturing Demonstration Base, Li spoke highly of the bright future of the remanufacturing industry as it feeds directly into the recycling and energy saving economies. He urged those at the base to broaden their opening up platforms and develop more products.
To date, the demonstration base has fostered more than 10 enterprises specializing in automobile engines, metallurgical equipment and cutting tool remanufacturing.

Li then visited the Kangde Xin Composite Material Company. Established in 2001, the company has become a leader in fields of 3-D industry, high polymer materials and new energy electric vehicles, all of which have promising application prospects. Li was satisfied with the company's product R&D and creative sales models, and asked more efforts in market expansion to contribute to regional economic development.
Early in the 1980s, Li had been to Zhangjiagang and put forward suggestions for the city's future blueprint. He hoped the city could strive to carry forward industrial development, especially in strategic emerging industries, and accelerate its structural upgrading at that time as well.
