Jiangsu Jinling Sports Equipment Co., Ltd, a professional sports equipment supplier headquartered in Zhangjiagang city, is the official supplier of volleyball equipment at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

With the games in full swing, Li Jiangang, general manager of Jinling Sports, is in Rio where he is overseeing and maintaining the quality of the equipment used in all volleyball and beach volleyball matches.

"This is a dream of two generations that has finally come true," Li said. The 32-year-old took over the company from his father in 2009, to carry on the company's mission of becoming a player on the world stage.

Since 2013, Li has held negotiations with the FIVB (Federation Internationale de Volleyball) officials, and won the contract to become official supplier after overcoming more than 30 technological issues. In May 2015, Jinling Sports was appointed as the official volleyball equipment supplier of the 2016 Rio Olympics.

"The equipment provided by Jinling Sports has been widely tested in various international volleyball games and received positive feedback from most players," said Angelo Squeo, FIVB’s beach volleyball director.

Since the brand became the nominated volleyball equipment supplier last year, Jinling Sports has received plenty of orders from many national Olympic teams, yielding 30 million yuan ($4.5 million) from the overseas market. For the games itself Jinling Sports has supplied equipment worth 4 million yuan. Li said that he expects the company's sales revenue to grow by 20 percent annually after the Rio Olympics.
