The QC Space, a youth startup hub, was unveiled in the Free Trade Zone of Zhangjiagang city, Jiangsu province, on Sept 18.
Designed by the Zhangjiagang municipal government, the hub boasts a 2,200-square-meter office area and a 6,000-square-meter entrepreneurial base. It is committed to providing a variety of methods for supporting new businesses, including startup training, temporary administrative services, and advice on financial and tax affairs.
Zhejiang Tailong Commercial Bank donated 30 million yuan ($4.5 million) to the hub during the unveiling ceremony.
Since the pilot project started running in February 2015, the hub has attracted 35 projects from young entrepreneurs, including Internet, biomedical, educational, and gardening businesses.
According to Cai Yingjie, head of a landscaping company, the hub offers a series of low cost financing services.
"The hub introduced us to Zhejiang Tailong Commercial Bank and we started our business with a low-interest-loan of 600,000 yuan ($90,000)," said Cai.
In addition, the hub gives the startup projects free office space and essential facilities during their first year.
Zhao Liwen, the manager of the youth startup hub, says that the hub provides training for the entrepreneurs every month and professional advice from mentors.
The hub will further improve supporting facilities and gradually introduce new financing methods, such as crowd-funding, to perfect its services offered to new entrepreneurs.
