The local government of Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province is striving to build a robust and healthy city, holding a conference on 2017 medical reforms on March 14.
Seeking to perfect the medical and health system, the government attached great importance to its grass roots operations. Not only will the government raise average public health funding to 80 yuan per person, but it will also facilitate a multitude of community health service centers and several traditional Chinese medicine clinics.
The number of specific treatment centers will also be released soon, including two national chest pain centers, four municipal stroke centers, eight municipal trauma centers and three emergency centers for pregnant and lying-in women and newborns.
To smoothly and steadily implement the two-child policy, the government plans to bring in two maternal and child health hospitals, offering related services covering over 70 percent of basic medical establishments.
The government will also go a step further to introduce talents in specific fields, setting up several national and provincial specialist clinics to invigorate the city's medical development.
