Zhangjiagang, a port city in East China's Jiangsu province, held a series of folk activities on Shuangshan Island to celebrate Dragon Boat Festival on June 18.
Dragon Boat Festival or Duanwu Festival in Chinese, is a traditional festival which falls on the fifth day of the fifth month in the lunar calendar to honor great Chinese poet Qu Yuan (340-278 BC).
Traditions during the festival include making zongzi and holding dragon boat races. Visitors take part in the folk activities to celebrate Dragon Boat Festival in Shuangshan Island on June 18. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]
