Wu Huifang awarded as China's 'most beautiful veteran'

Party Secretary of Yonglian village Wu Huifang, was awarded as one of China's 20 "most beautiful veterans" of 2018, for his contributions to village construction, authorities announced at an awarding ceremony in Beijing.
Wu Huifang, a serviceman from 1980 to 2005, and now the Party secretary of Yonglian village in Zhangjiagang, touched many in Yonglian with his efforts to promote the village's ecological development.
Wu is still engaged in helping locals to have better lives though he no longer serves in the army. He took an active part in the construction of Yonglian, setting up a series of modern facilities such as a farmers' market, a hospital, and commercial streets and schools.
He also proposed development of rural tourism and constriction of an agricultural culture park to drive local economic development with resources advantages.
With his efforts, Yonglian is tops among the country's villages in terms of comprehensive strength and has been named a National Civilized Village.
