China Railway Construction Co wins bid to build Zhangjiagang new city

China Railway Construction Co recently won a bid to build the northwestern part of a new city to centered around the Zhangjiagang High-Speed Railway Station in Zhangjiagang, East China’s Jiangsu province.
The project, costing 14.67 billion yuan ($2.11), will include the construction of 48 kilometers of roads and bridges, 810,000 square meters of landscaping projects, and the construction of residential areas and other facilities.
The new city will cover an area of 44 sq km and consists of seven different areas meant for innovation, intelligent manufacturing, scientific research and education, and cultural activities.
An old town project is also planned, which will include Tangqiao old town, Lugang town, and a dock. It will be a multi-functional area for culture, commerce, and entertainment.
