Zhangjiagang’s first marathon of 2020 will be held at the Xiangshan scenic area in Jingang town on March 1, according to organizers.

The national 4A-level scenic area is located in western Zhangjiagang, 15 kilometers away from the downtown area. It is home to thousands of plum trees covering an area of 20 hectares, which are expected to be in full bloom in March.

The marathon will consist of a 16.8-km run and a 5-km mini race. Organizers warned that the former would be a bit challenging, since the route will pass through mountainous terrain and feature steep slopes and sharp turns.

Online registration will open at https://www.runnar.com/event/1327/WEB/detail at 10 am on Jan 21 and automatically close once all spots are filled.
