Zhangjiagang signs 19 tourism project deals in Shanghai

A promotional conference for the Shuangshan Xiangshan tourist resort in Zhangjiagang was held in Shanghai on April 18, with 19 project deals signed, worth nearly 7 billion yuan ($989 million).
At the conference, the resort signed several strategic cooperation agreements with Shanghai Pearl River Investment Management Co, involving areas such as hotels, healthcare and hot spring baths, with total investment of 6 billion yuan. Other deals valued at nearly 1 billion yuan included culture, sports, homestays and catering.
Upon completion, the projects are expected to bring more than 500,000 tourists to the resort, injecting new momentum to its development.
Shuangshan Island and Xiangshan Mountain scenic area face each other across a branch of the Yangtze River and cover 26.6 square kilometers.
Over the past three years, the resort has spent 1.57 billion yuan improving its infrastructure, including roads, bridges, water network and landscape.
A number of tourism projects, including a lighthouse homestay, a holiday hotel and a flight camp, have been introduced and are currently under construction.
