Activities launched in Zhangjiagang to bolster night economy

A characteristic event titled Colorful Night in Zhangjiagang will be launched in the city in Jiangsu province to bolster its night economy, according to local media reports April 27.
The night economy refers to service sector activity between 6 pm and 6 am, which includes shopping, dining, tours, entertainment, studying, films and television, and relaxation.
The event, organized by the city’s cultural and tourism bureau, consists of 30 different cultural and tourism activities, and focuses on promoting cultural and creative products related to intangible cultural heritages in Zhangjiagang, including Wuxi Opera and Pingtan Opera.
To enrich the city's nightlife and boost its nighttime economy, recreational and sports activities, and themed cultural activities will also be added to the event, such as family fitness activities, yoga contests, night running games and drawing contests.
Additionally, Zhangjiagang will build its characteristic tourism brand by taking full advantage of the Xiangshan Tourist Resort Area, open up more tourist routes for night travel, and create new highlights combining land and water tours, making the night economy a new growth engine to boost the city’s consumption market.
