Anyi loquat

Anyi loquat enjoys a long history of more than 2,000 years. Its harvest season coincides with the off season of other fruits, so it is poplar among people particularly at the start of summer.

The loquat produced in Anyi county, Nanchang city is round, has thin and tender skin, plump pulp, and a sweet and slightly sour taste. It is also juicy and refreshing. It contains rich protein, fat, vitamin C, sugar, calcium, magnesium and iron. The nutritional value is very high.

Fresh loquat fruit may be eaten raw or canned or made into fruit wine or fruit jam.

Loquat leaves, kernel, juice and sugar may be extracted to produce the famous loquat lotion, which clears the lung, relieves a cough, sooths the throat and promotes the secretion of body fluids.

Loquat tree trunks have a fine and tough texture and may be used as sculpture material.

Loquat flowers are precious sources of honey. “Loquat honey” is thick, sweet and pure and is a high-grade tonic. Loquat has been introduced to many countries in Asia, Europe, Africa and Oceania.
