Kiwi is a fruit of a perennial climbing plant and has very high economic and medicinal value. Wuning county produces 700 tons of kiwi a year.

Wuning kiwi contains rich vitamins, 3-10 times higher than the vitamins in an orange, and about 30 times as high as those in pear and apple. In addition, it also contains various kinds of amino acids and trace elements. It contains no contamination.

Kiwi has multiple efficacies like nourishing and strengthening physique, reducing fever, causing diuresis, promoting the secretion of body fluids, moistening dryness, dispelling wind, invigorating the circulation of blood, eliminating stasis, subsiding swelling, promoting digestion, stimulating the secretion of milk and stops bleeding. It was officially included in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia in 1987. People often eat it directly as a fruit. It may also be made into jam, jelly, juice or fruity wine or preserved in a can.
