The entrance ticket price of the Jinggang Mountain scenic spot is going to rise to 162.5 yuan ($25.82) per person from 130 yuan per person, a growth of 25 percent. This is according to the price adjustment hearing program proposed on March 20, 2012.
The scenic spot will continue to carry out the ticket price fluctuation system during both tourist peak and off seasons. The current ticket price that was approved by the People's government of the Jiangxi province on Sep 8, 2004 is 130 yuan.
Due to a large amount of investments made in the scenic spot's construction and resources protection in recent years, the cost for business operation of the scenic spot has grown. For the past three years, the average scenic spot operation cost amounted to 115.82 million yuan. Considering the annual average number of tourists is 775,900, the cost for each tourist reaches149.29 yuan, higher than its entrance ticket.
