The 8th International Folk Photography Annual Competition to kick off

The 8th International Folk Photography Annual Competition will be held in Jinggangshan, Jiangxi province in 2013. Its launching ceremony kicked off in Nanchang. The competition aims to record, spread and share folk cultures all over the world through photography. The mysterious Chinese red culture will be exhibited and interpreted for the world in the name of the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
This competition is jointly organized by the UNESCO, China Folklore Photographic Association, Jinggangshan Management Bureau and Jinggangshan Municipal Government. More than 3,000 photographers from over 150 countries are expected to take part in this competition.
Initiated in 1998, the competition has been successfully held for seven years. The final review and award ceremony of the 8th competition is due to be held in September of 2013 in Jinggangshan.
