2012 China Red Tourism Expo kicks off

The 2012 China Red Tourism Expo kicked off in Pingxiang, Jiangxi province on July 1.

Zhu Hong, vice-governor of Jiangxi province, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He said Jiangxi is a birthplace of red tourism for its glorious revolution tradition. The province also has many red cultural birthplaces such as Jianggangshan, the cradle of the Chinese revolution; Nanchang, the cradle of the People's Army; Ruijin, the cradle of the People's republic, and Anyuan, the cradle of labor movements.
The red tourism expo will be a grand meeting for red tourism and for the publicity of red culture. It will also enhance the city's image and improve tourism.
Over 5,000 people, including officials from 16 cities and representatives from ten top travel agencies and associations in China, journalists and reporters from media at home and abroad, as well as Pingxiang local residents, attended the opening ceremony.
