Jinggang Mountain in Jiangxi province held an official signing ceremony to initiate construction of an international mountain bike track.
The project will create a base integrating tourism, leisure and professional training. It is located in Huang'ao village of Jinggangshan city and has a total investment of 300 million yuan ($47.31 million). A mountain bike track spanning roughly 16.8 kilometers and a five-star hotel will be built, according to project plans. The track will be designed by American experts based on on-the-spot surveys. It is expected to open by the end of October 2013.
The project will attract thousands of bicycle fans from home and abroad to Jinggang Mountain, expanding the tourism market and boosting local economic development.
