The 11th China (Changchun) International Auto Expo officially opened at the Changchun International Conference & Exhibition Center on July 13.

The Expo featured innovative ideas and content, as well as improved quality this year. It covered a total area of 200,000 square meters and drew in 137 exhibitors, who displayed 1,200 vehicles belonging to 152 brands.

A total of 685,000 visitors joined the expo, and 19,100 vehicles were sold, involving 4.2 billion yuan ($686 million) in business transactions. A total of 80 concept and new energy vehicles were showcased and 100 product launching events were held.

The auto academic forum and celebration both turned out to be a success during the Expo. The forum was held by the Society of Automotive Engineers of China, Jilin University, and the First Automobile Group, while the auto celebration was undertaken by the Changchun Economic and Technological Development Zone, which also worked with the First Automobile Group in holding several popular events for the public.

The Changchun International Auto Expo is one of the five major auto shows in China, and China's only international auto expo. It insists on a market-oriented operation and government guidance, and highlights internationalization, specialization and informationization, as well as new energy and technology. The Expo will strive to transform itself into a platform for the auto trade, technical exchange, investment cooperation and cultural fusion.
