The 13th China Changchun International Agriculture & Food Expo was held at the Changchun Agri-Expo Garden, Northeast China’s Jilin province, on August 15, 2014. The ten-day event covered an area of 1.06 million square meters and consisted of 22 exhibition and cultural activities.

The Expo focused on science, technology and green development, communication and development, culture, economy and trade, security and quality. It has become one of the best platforms to showcase the province's agricultural comprehensive strength. It helps farmers keep informed of the latest cutting-edge and most practical agricultural science and technology, and has evolved into a grand celebration for the public.

The Expo consists of 12 exhibitions of special agricultural products, farming culture, agricultural machinery, rural new energy equipment, modern crop farming, high-tech agriculture, new rural residential housing, high-quality animal husbandry, edible bacteria food, agricultural means of production and fisheries, as well as 10 activities, such as a signing ceremony between the Jilin government and farm product main sales areas, a contest for landmark agricultural food, a cross-Strait agriculture forum, an exhibition of farmer's paintings, photography and art works, and an agriculture science collection.

The Expo drew in more than 2,000 enterprises, including more than 600 leading, small and medium-sized agricultural companies, and commerce chambers from overseas governments. Tens of thousands of famous quality farm products from across China were displayed.

A total of 320 companies from more than ten provinces (cities and regions), including Jiangsu, Henan, Shandong and Liaoning, attended the agricultural machinery exhibition; more than 300 livestock breeding, pet, animal feed and drug companies joined the animal husbandry exhibition; more than 120 agricultural means of production companies joined the agricultural means of production exhibition; and more than 30 new energy equipment and material producers attended the rural new energy equipment exhibition.

The China Changchun International Agriculture & Food Expo was founded in 2000 by the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Jilin and Changchun governments. It usually takes place in mid August at the Changchun Agri-Expo Garden. It has become one of the world's biggest agricultural expos over the years, featuring cutting-edge science and technology and a large number of exhibitors.
