Jilin party secretary meets with Ma Yun

Bayinchaolu, the Party Secretary of Jilin province, met with a delegation led by Ma Yun, the Executive Chairman of Alibaba Group, a renowned Chinese e-commerce company, on Dec 30, in the city of Changchun, to discuss the company’s massive online sales services in helping Jilin’s overall economic development.
The Party Secretary gave a description of Jilin’s economic situation and plan to the visiting delegates, with an empahsis on the administration’s plan for the province’s economic revitalization, particularly by means of e-business and the internet.
Baiyinchaolu noted that Jilin has an abundance of natural resources, and also is good at manufacturing and invited Alibaba to increase cooperation with Jilin in the e-business industry.
"We encourage the company to apply more niche ideas and business into Jilin," the Party Secretary said. "Meanwhile, we will provide better services to cope with Alibaba here in Jilin."
Ma Yun responded by expressing a great interest in helping Jilin sell more high quality goods to the global market via the group’s online-marketing services, and said the province has a great potential for developing the digital industry in the foreseeable future.
Alibaba Group is a big e-commerce company that operates consumer-to-consumer, business-to-consumer and business-to-business sales services.
And it has sought an IPO in the United States. Present at the meeting were Jiang Chaoliang, Governor of Jilin, and representatives from Jilin provincial government and Alibaba Group.
After the meeting, the Jilin provincial government signed a series of agreements with Alibaba on e-ecommerce cooperation.
